Comments:
The design this year is focused on one of the most recognizable symbols of the Chapel--the Christus Rex. On the candle, the cross is overshadowed by the image of the Christus Rex. This is meant to symbolize that Christ bore our cross for us, and has therefore triumphed over the grave. Streams of color fan out from each wound of Christ. These colors draw the eye upward as they criss-cross randomly over a majority of the length of the candle. Even the wounds of Christ demonstrate the his victory over death. These streams echo the streams of color on the Chapel's set of Easter paraments dedicated Easter 2006.
